Tianruo Wang is a China based film composer, singer songwriter, and pianist trained in Film Scoring at Berklee College of Music. His experience as a songwriter and as a film composer naturally complements each other and shapes the way he approaches storytelling through music.
When scoring a film, Tianruo pays close attention to the distance between the music and the image, knowing when to move closer to a character’s emotions and when to leave space for the scene itself. He approaches this relationship much like arranging a song. The music should support the image in the same way an arrangement supports the lyrics, adding depth without overwhelming what is already being said.
